Anti-Malware that works even when got a virus

Downloaded MAIL TRACK as an extension to Gmail.

OMG...I coulnt even run hitman, malware etc etc as everytime the malware program started it shut down.
as did right click on anyfile, sfc scan stopped halfway through...the list went on.
Finally had to google where extensions were installed and removed them manually (all is ok now but took 2 days of stress

OK so is there a malware, virus detector program that will run even though there is a virus on the pc
Like I said even malwarebytes started then stopped everytime I opened it.

This should run even though you are infected.

Not quite, but there is RKILL.

...in summary, RKill just kills 32-bit and 64-bit malware processes and scans the registry for entries that would not allow you to run various legitimate programs....

Since RKill only terminates processes and does not remove the offending files, when it is finished you should not reboot your computer. If you do, these malware processes that are set to start automatically, will just start up again. Instead, after running RKill you should scan your computer using your malware removal tool of choice....

Bree. Thanks for that post. I am not this thread starter, but I like the suggestion of this tiny little portable security app that you mentioned. Can you mention to me all the tiny free apps that are security related, so I can put them in my security folder on my computer, as they are useful little apps to keep my computer clean and safe.

    Thanks!

I already have a script that downloads the latest version of that app every time I double click a certain item.

I am looking for more apps to add to this list:

I use the Windows Defender on a regular basis and often set for a full scan while taking a break from the pc. There is the offline option which has a better chance of dealing with the viruses which cause trouble at startup. Along with extra manual scans from the free Malwarebytes, I have been lucky so far. I used to use Norton, Mc Affee, Kasperski and AGV, but have doubts whether paying increases the protection.

    tinmar,

Naturally, it's entirely up to you but you really only need to do Quick scans. It ought to detect any malware that has sneaked through Defender's real-time defence.
Full scans are intended to help Defender do a better job of detecting & removing remnants after a malware attack.

The MS article used to explain this more clearly than its latest version does:
    MS said:
A full scan can be useful on endpoints that have encountered a malware threat to identify if there are any inactive components that require a more thorough clean-up.

    All the best,
    Denis

Dr.Web CureIt, it runs with a randomized name and without a signature based on which it could get blocked.
