    I'm using BitDefender right now.
I might get kapersky when I upgrade to Win10..
May I ask for some experiences with it ?
BiteDefefener works just fine in Win10.
I've used Kapersky before and it works really well. It has PC Mags editor choice and it's what I would use if I were to spend money on any AV. I think I might download the trial today and see if it installs.

    I'll post my findings.

    Well, Kapersky did not install.
    That's a fail on the Win10 Test.

But I bet by next year it will work just fine.

MSE is perfectly fine with mbam pro/ now premium I probably wouldn't if I used the free version of mbam
I've used this same combo for 4-5 years
With a dash of SAS Pro because I love the product although the free version is good too,
I feel quite good about the above combo,
    Cheers.

So, all you guys who installed 3rd party AV, can you still run Windows Defender?

With Bitdeffender, WD is dead as doornail.

Do you think MS did this in purpose so that everyone will be forced to use a security software that they are in control of?

Well, multiple AVs at the same time never vent together well.

But with Win 8, the built-in AV is fine even after installing Avast and AVG. I just don't enable them at the same time. But if you accidentally did, all you get is a conflict error message and not a broken AV.

Avast did disable WD in W8, didn't fave to lift a finger to do it myself.

Windows defender would be disabled mostly by the third party a-v being installed because of it's own features would replace defenders,
Turning it back on would be unadvised otherwise the third party would not of turned it off

One quirk I guess no one but I have run into in win-10 was windows defender would not come back on after uninstalling Panda antivirus :/
In a 10TP I would stick to the existing apps store a-v's "if" I were now going to replace win-defender which I wouldn't do it now anyway after the last deal,
There really is no need to replace w.d. add mbam pro and be done
