    Avast.
I would switch to Avira but from what I remember you need to keep a toolbar in your browser to have the shield enabled or something like that which is a no go for me.

I'm trying it on Win10(10130) and it works just fine.. well up to now it does. Some time today I might go back to using Win8.1.1 and upgrade from there when the final release comes out(then I can use Avast there)...

You can get more than 1 license. Not sure if it will allow you to use the same info you gave away but in my case I used a different name and email. I got 2 licenses.. 1 for win 7 and 1 for win 8.1.
Maybe I'll get one more later for my Win 8.1 tablet using an Avast free edition.

Tnx. I kinda gave up on Avast when it refused to work with W 10 and that "spying affair" and using only WD but I'll probably install it on 8.1 and if it still works when it get's upgraded to 10 it might even stay there. Using AVG on 8.1 and it's getting increasingly twitchy, balking at unsigned drivers and programs working over IP like security camera programs I just installed and had to disable AVG temporarily until installed.

Yeah, I stopped using Avast for a while and switched to AVG when that "spying" issue surfaced. But I can't stand AVG anymore. I gives me a lot of pop-up messages and interferes a lot with what I do.

And this is one of the reasons I use Defender with Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit for extra(Zero-Day) protection, I also turn JAVA on "only" when it's needed, and set Flash player always "Click to Play". And of course Tracking Protection in IE 11. I only have add-ons I need at the moment turned on, and with IE 11 I have the ability to set everything on a site for site basis(most people don't know that). I surf fast and light and very safe, without any overkill.

My setup (in W8.1) is almost identical to that employed by Cliff. In addition to the above I also have Malwarebytes Premium (the paid version) and IE SmartScreen Filter. For surfing I use the IE InPrivate option and DuckDuckGo search engine.

In the past (XP, Vista, W7) I have used Trend Micro; Kaspersky; Avast and AVG. Although all of these products are "good" in their own right I cannot find an economic justification to pay for the paid-for version or to burden the system with the additional footprint and overhead of either the paid-for or free versions. The perceived benefits of these products do not, in my view (which could be wrong) justify installing them.

360 Total Security works well, if anyone is still looking for a free A/V for Win 10 TP.

I am using Avast + Comodo + Malwarebytes for windows 10 build 10166. Also ran MVPS HOSTS. Total lock down. It works beautifully.
