Windows 10 Turning Off Norton 360.

Hi. Windows 10 security informed me that I have no anti virus or firewall running. I have Norton 360 installed on a couple of PC's. The Norton Program updates and downloads with no problem and tells me that "I am protected", however Windows Security says that either I have no Security Software or that Norton is turned off. The workaround is that if i disable and enable Auto Protect and Firewall Windows Security says Norton is running and all OK. On restart the problem is back. Norton says that it is a Windows problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled Norton 360 using the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool with no success. Norton is running in Services (Auto) even when Windows is saying it is not. I wanted to ask if it is a Windows reporting problem or if Norton actually isn't running and any suggestions how to fix it.

What version of Win10 do you have and are all updates current ? Is Windows Defender updating properly ? And under Settings-Windows Security do all items have a green check mark ?

May want to run sfc/scannow and do a System Restore just to see if any difference.

    Windows 10 Turning Off Norton

Hello and thanks for taking the time to reply.
I have Windows 10 21H2 and I tried the system file checker which fixed some corrupted files. On restart it made no difference as (it seems) Norton was not running. However, I tend to keep the battery saver running all the time. I have a 17" laptop and the battery life, even from the start, is poor and that is with a new battery. It seems that the reason Windows is reporting no AntiVirus is due to battery saver stopping background items and notifications. When I turned battery saver off and restarted Windows reported Norton was running. I'm not sure if Norton was running all the time but Windows could not report it?
Thanks again for your advice which is appreciated.

Seems to be resolved ? If so, mods prefer that we check the solved block at the bottom of your initial post.
