    Defender scan

Does Win 10 Windows Defender need to scan by it's self everyday or should you scan it your self?...It used to scan each time I logged in, but not now. It use to say "Your computer was scanned three minutes ago and nothing malicious was found", but not now
    it doesn't. Is this right?.

First of all, have a look at this . . .

    > How to Turn On or Off Microsoft Defender Antivirus in Windows 10

Also, have a look at the Related Tutorials at the BOTTOM of the above Tutorial [ there are quite a few ], as they may also be related.

Have you made ANY customisations using a REG file or a Batch Script for example, as this will change the default behaviour of Microsoft Defender Antivirus?

What happened PRIOR to this happening, like installing a WU, Software, Drivers, etc?

Have you got a SystemRestore Point PRIOR to this happening that you can try?

If you are using ANOTHER Anti-Virus, Microsoft Defender Antivirus will automatically turn itself off. Are you using an alternative Anti-Virus?

Have you turned OFF Notifications? . . .

    Also, have a look at these . . .

    > How to Enable or Disable Real-time Protection for Microsoft Defender Antivirus in Windows 10
    > How to Manually Scan Files, Folders, and Drives with Windows Defender Antivirus in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

According to Defender, it says it's working properly, but I still have to do a scan. But I've always had doubts about the Lenovo laptop since it crashed and wouldn't let me sign in. After downloading a legitimate version from microsoft, it feels like a tablet and not a laptop, it say's it's not in tablet mode, but even the browsers etc seem to act like tablet mode. But the laptop cannot use
win 11 anyway, so it's useless buying a disc.
