I ran the Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth command & then the Sfc /scannow command again:
    Windows Security Not Working-dism-scannow.jpg

But once I rebooted the comfuser, nothing changed; Windows Security still will not open.
It's working because before I started this thread, I received a pop-up about a scan & nothing bad being found.

Thank you for all the instructions, but I'm just going to do a clean reinstall of Windows 10.

Did you follow the guidance at the end of Option 3 in
    SFC-DISM - TenForumsTutorials
to run that Dism command whilst online [because it uses WU mechanisms to retrieve replacement system files from MS servers]?

I looked at the CBS.log file & it hurt my head.
You never need to read CBS.log. Use the procedure in Option 5 of the tutorial to extract the relevant entries from it instead.

Some people have apparently been reporting problems such as this after having installed update KB5015807
    - I haven't seen any of them post their SFC results, i.e. their CBS log extracts using Option 5, so it will be very interesting to see yours.

Do you have any problems opening anything else?
Does uninstalling KB5015807 solve the problem [as it apparently has done for some others]?

    All the best,

I think it may be better/easier for me to reinstall Windows 10. I was planning to later this year anyway.

Yep, that is what I do with a major issue especially a security type. But patience is not one my virtues, and I do keep a current backup of my files.

Have you considered this? => How to Do a Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    I hope this helps.

In this situation I would always do a clean install or recover the last working backup

A logical person would read the thread title before posting the above.

The OP has run SFC but not yet posted the SFC irreparables list [extract of CBS log] so "This situation" is not yet defined.

And I am not having any problem opening any other program on my computer.

You mean that the fault is not present at the moment. There's only going to be something diagnostic in the SFC results extract when the fault is present.
