    Norton

This is not for me, but for a friend.

I don't use Norton, I never have, but my mate and his mrs do because they just want the security of mind and don't spend time some of us do to learn about PC's.

Basically, he renewed his Norton for another 12 months, and they can add up to 5 protected email addresses.

The laptop one, the main one, is fine, no problems

But he wants it to protect his tablet.

I haven't looked at this, but he says he has added the email address they use on their tablet (a Samsung Galaxy) and he got a link, but it doesn't transfer the protection to the tablet like he thinks it should.

I've made a few guesses, like - does he need a Norton app (which he says he already has but I'm not sure if thats the case, is the email address on his Norton registration correct (he says his Norton shows this so it SHOULD be linking).

Sorry if this is vague. If I need to, I'll get over and have a look.

While you're there, read the Norton user manuals for both their installed version & the tablet's version.
They used to have boringly extensive explanations that might contain the answer to the current problem.
Failing that, their website or user forums might help.

What is that avatar? Your local pub, the local workhouse?

They’ll require the Norton security app, once signed in with the same Norton account details as used on the PC it should activate.

What OS does the tablet use, If it's android and you are not running root the best any virus/malware app can do is check the name of the app and if it's on a list it will block it not much use for a app that costs money if you ask me.

Scanning files and folders is heavily locked down in android, Just stick to the play store or alternate sources that you trust and even then your still not 100% safe.
