    Microsoft Defender Offline Scan doesn't actually seem to scan


    When I click 'Scan now' it restarts my computer and then instead of launching Win RE to perform scanning as it's said to be supposed to work, I'm back with my normal desktop and nothing more happens. Also, it doesn't register any scan result. The last scan noted under current threats is a full scan from months ago.

    See disabling Fast Startup will resolve the problem.

    Hello @bgbrother,

    If the above does NOT work.

    You could first try clearing the Downloaded Definitions Updates Cache and then Restarting.
