    Error 8024402f "protection definition update failed" in defender


    Each time I try and update the windows defender AV updates i get the error "protection definition update failed".

    Only when i disable the windows update service (services.msc) i am able to download the definitions update

    I have enough disk space for sure and sfc /scannow does not show any errors or loss of integrity

    What is the solution to being able to download the definitions with windows update service enabled?
