ConfigureDefender App

Does anyone here have any experience with using the ConfigureDefender app ? If so, has it been bad, good? It seems like an excellent way to harden WD even further. Thanks for any input.

I've used it, its an excellent addition to provide more security. Its portable so takes up no disc space, is updated as required and just uses Windows built in settings. No downfalls I can see.

Thank you Digmor for your response. I am considering dropping my current AV and using WD with MB. I know many here consider that sufficient protection. Hard to stop using something you have used for years and try something else particularly where AV and security is concerned.

I Use Defender all the time, but still get a second opinion (when in doubt) with standalone AV removal tools.

But the foremost important thing you need to never encounter these nasties locally: Is Clean and Secured DNS Servers.

There are easy ways to completely bullet proof your network from internal pollution. and many ways to prevent external ones.

I've been using it for a few months along with Simple Windows Hardening and Windows Firewall Control. I have no idea if Configure Defender works, as I haven't ever had anything warning me about any threats.

But I sleep better at night...
