    What does mpcopyaccelerator.exe do?


    As usual, M$ is deaf and dumb when asked what something actually does.

    Does anyone here know what this proccess is actually doing?

    Hi @Sqrly

    Through direct properties there is no Digital Signature tab which is slightly suspicious. It does no harm to run it through a virus check through VirusTotal. If the file path is C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Platform then it's a Microsoft Defender updater tool.

    I believe it speeds up download & install of Defender updates/definitions.
