A complete check for virus removal

I have been using windows defender for years and it's been working out really well, but i want to make sure that my computer is completely free from virus. Is there some programs i should use to make sure of that, just in case windows defender have missed something?

Most use Malwarebytes for a second opinion. https://www.malwarebytes.com/solutions/free-antivirus

I also check with ESET's free online: One Time Scan... Free Virus Scan | Online Virus Scan from ESET | ESET

    Hi,

    No installation required.

    Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool
    Kaspersky TDSKiller
    Norton Power Eraser
    MWAV eScanAV Toolkit

    Microsoft Defender Offline scan

Windows Security>Virus & threat protection>Microsoft Defender Offline Scan

This shuts down Windows and runs the scan before restarting windows.

Well, i ran a couple of scans with most of the antivirus programs that you mentioned and they found some some spyware but no viruses, thanks for the suggestions.

A program that receives little publicity if Microsoft Safety Scanner (above link). I have ran it a couple of times in the past without findings.

No idea of its effectiveness. Never mentioned anywhere that I have seen.

I will - my first advice will be at an introductory price of £100 for 1st hour, and then £250/hr thereafter!

That is what I am getting charged for legal advice!

Users here are domestic users - the corporate market is much more specialised and you should see specialist help rather than random responses here,

If you're not using administrator account, creating a new account and deleting old one helps to kill a lot of non elevated malware.
