There's little to choose between them, really. I'm sticking with Defender.
Test antivirus software for Windows 10 - October 2021 | AV-TEST
I use AVG Internet Security (also on my smart phone), AVG BreachGuard & AVG AntiTrack which, together, keep me pretty well protected. The cost is less than some folk spend on crisps and well worth it. The annual cost of having access to a whole team of professionals all watching my back 24/7/365 is negligable. I don't do free anymore appreciating the old maxim that some folk know the price of everything and, alas, the value of nothing. Paid for services, well sourced, are much underestimated IMHO.
I've been a long time user of Kaspersky that I found really efficient, then I went for ESET Nod32 as the Kaspersky activation system became such a hassle.
I find ESET Nod32 to be pretty light in RAM usage and doing a great job.
I know a lot of people are happy with Defender, plus it's free, but as I'm used to Nod32 now, I just stick to it, it's not super expensive.
