    I have AVG. I use Firefox as my browser. Recently I have been getting these pop-ups from AVG that say" MsMpEng.exe is trying to access your login info in Firefox. The options are to "block app" or "allow app.

    Is it safe to allow the app access?

    Hi,

    MSMpEng.exe is the Microsoft Antimalware Scanning Engine, I would not block it.

    While it can read and analyses your file, it cannot decrypt / see any passwords stored in there. This happened to a couple of antivirus and antimalware .

    I would authorize the access and notify AVG about that. If your confident of the integrity of your system, I would classify that as a false positive.
