Provide the logs if you still want help please.
update: after also running a boot scan, I have had some slightly different issues:
1. with my intuous wacom mouse, my mouse clicked by itself when hovering on pages, and seemed to behave erratically. it seemed like it moved slightly at first, but I think it was just clicking and double clicking. It caused pages to possibly close and the browser to close twice.
2. possibly the touchpad also clicked once when i chose that instead.
I decided to check browser cache and temp files for viruses, but didn't find anything.
Note: this is not opening files and running them, or appearing like hacks this time, but appears like potentially something i causing the wacom mouse and potentially the touchpad to click (even when i do not do it).
I am running the full virus scan again. Do you think i should still use farbar? It seems strange as it now mostly seems like it is only when I am using the wacom mouse, and it only happened twice. Specifically, yesterday, i was typing on a website, then suddenly the browser closed. I suspected that I closed it on accident. I think maybe the mouse was in the corner and clicked. Today, I was watching a music video, and i saw the scroll bar appeared like it was being clicked, and so i moved the mouse to the page, and a youtube video that was embedded appeared to show some sort of header off and on. then he webpage stuff happened, then as i moved the mouse on the desktop, all the files that were hovered over opened. When I switched to touchpad, it appeared hat maybe one icon opened a menu, but I am not sure if it acted as if it were clicked or not. I suspect that it did. Note: I do think that cursor trojan probably came from a phishing e-mail that I received, as the e-mail address sender appeared legitimate, and a link in the e-mail did too. But the same day, many programs started opening. After I quarantined the virus, it stopped, and search worked in the taskbar. However, this happened. Also, it did appear that prior to that event, that folders opened twice in sleep mode. Just no programs were ever opened.
I am curious, is anyone available to reply to my latest question? i had found a virus on my own, which seemed to mostly solve problems. Then when I hovered my mouse a couple of times, it was acting like it was clicking (no matter where). Some sites suggested that it would be dirty, but it barely happened. One of the same sites suggested infection. I did run a scan again, but it didn't find anything. Also, today, I was in a window (probably e-mail), and a few new tabs opened for the Edge browser. I do not recall if the pointer was over the new tab link. Currently, there is no evidence lately that I am being hacked, or none of the other strange activity that happened before. But there is what I described. I do not think it is simply a dirty wacom mouse. Please advise. I think it might not be some malware, due to what happens. Also, recently, somebody told me to download some Microsoft Safety Scanner from the Microsoft website, but the executable file was found to be another trojan. It was really the microsoft website, as the domain was accurate. I sent feedback to microsoft, and to the volunteer on microsoft community forums.
I'm no expert, but what you described, it sounds like ghost clicks on your mouse. Is your mouse old/dirty? If so it may be randomly auto-clicking on its own. Just a thought. Maybe try a different mouse?
