If it is not a hidden virus, then how are files opening by themselves in airplane mode? How did my cursor move to enable an alternate WiFi connection today when WiFi was off? How did the cursor continuously move in a vertical pattern up and down by itself at the login screen? I did not have my hand on the touchpad or the external mouse and I do not have Bluetooth enabled. It seems like something is programmed in a pattern to operate the cursor outside of the internet. Other theories are hacking on radio waves or something installed on my computer so that the airplane mode really isn’t on, and in that, WiFi is still active in airplane mode at the login screen. What do you think? One tech at a store said free antivirus programs may not detect viruses.

We do not know all your circumstances, we don't know who else has access to your system (room mates, relatives, complete strangers), we can only go by the methods we would employ to troubleshoot a misbehaving system. It is possible someone has set a task/ several tasks to perform seemingly random actions as a prank or is using an app like Team Viewer or even Windows remote access, it is possible if you are using a phone as an access point that it plays a part in this. An example is that you say your cursor moved to enable an alternate WIFI connection, how, why do you have more than one WIFI access point, who else has access to that WIFI point? Radio waves is exactly how wireless and Bluetooth both work so "other theories are hacking on radio waves" is a pointless contribution here.
You seem to have so much going on that finding a culprit is like looking for a needle in a sea of needles, you need to be willing to take our advice and reduce the number of possible causes in order to find the actual cause.
The "tech" is quite correct, free antivirus may not detect a virus, but also paid for antivirus may not detect a virus.
The term virus is used now days for a wide range of unwanted software, everything from PUPs to malware, there are new versions of these coming out almost on the hour, it is virtually impossible for any antivirus, paid or free to have a 100% hit rate.
Constantly asking the question "so how is this happening?" then listing a number of experienced disruptions without performing any of the steps recommended to you is pointless. Tell us the positive steps you have so far taken to pinpoint the crux of your issue, not including asking store "techs", friends and Elvis for theories.

First of all, nobody else uses my computer. The people that I connect to the same network do not know anything about programming either. What I have tried is: 1) running avast in regular windows and at boot both before and after quarantining a virus, 2)running malware bytes in safe mode, 3)running kapersky antivirus awhile ago in regular windows, running farbar, 4) running some anti malware program a shop told me to run which basically found false positives, 5) ran unhackme which did the same.. I did find some search thing which may have been windows code which I deleted. 6) I ran something in Windows powershell to find ports that might be monitored but I don’t understand that as the article did not list any solutions, 7) ran autoruns for a similar thing (I believe it was also for detecting rootkits or rats. I did not find anything. I also ran eset one time scan. It only said avast uninstall file was dangerous. I do know if anyone has access to my computer it is through a virus or by some form of hacking. Those theories about hardware or radio waves are from articles on the internet. But the idea about radio seems to be different than WiFi. I don’t know much about it. I think somebody probably did not install something on my computer though. It seems like something may have been from an unknown virus from some website or backdoor installation. I agree that techs and programs may not detect everything as I had a computer with windows vista that was infected and a virus was not detected. I reformatted it, and other people’s computers. We often used external keyboards since it basically messed up the keyboard in some cases.
Note: I also installed a VPN, and it doesn’t prevent anything.

I hope that information helps. The vpn is on the main computers using windows 10, not the vista computers.

Andre-ten suggested a clean Windows install in post #3 nearly 2 months ago. In your shoes I'd do that.

That may work in some cases, but it is clear with my laptop that the latest windows update displays the wrong battery percentage, and then it will go to low power mode, then sometimes not charge, then I have to start it again before it will charge. I also do not have a windows installation disc. I purchased a new laptop already of which I am waiting to transfer data to, and it is too late to return it. It is better to find the solution at this point, and then transfer things, then invest more money in the old system. Indeed, the battery and adapter are only probably 1 year old. Those problems with the battery could have something to do with the update, but I’ve seen so many problems with windows updates making the old system incompatible, that I would rather move everything to the newer one. If people don’t know, and don’t understand how this is possible, please just say so. But there must be a way to find some kind of exploit or virus without reinstalling windows on a system with potentially bad parts that updates deleted necessary drivers and software. I think continuously installing new updated windows where it is deleting original stuff is doing more harm than good.

You might consider simply shutting down your old computer permanently and not fighting with its problems any more.

You can get a SATA-to-USB adapter, remove the system disk from your old computer, connect it to the adapter, and plug the adapter into your new computer. Then you can copy only the essential data files (no programs!) from your old computer's disk to your new computer.

Make sure your new computer has a single, good package of anti-malware software installed and running first, of course.

The majority of the programs were saved before this issue occurred. However, I am not sure about all of them. I do know that I have confidential files that I may need to copy. However, I am not sure about those types of adapters. I accidentally threw one away once not knowing what it was for. The new laptop did come with temporary version of mcaffee, but it was supposed to be registered right away after purchasing it, instead of a month later, or so. For some reason, it is not allowed to register it a while after opening the box.But I am not sure that any antimalware will protect it if anything is infected and transferred, since nothing has been detected. Nobody knows currently what is causing this issue (where it has been embedded, etc). It seems complicated to transfer stuff backed up from my iphone to itunes which are currently not synced properly anymore. Then this issue that we have been discussing. While it is probably unlikely that a hard drive encasing would be fake on Amazon, or another website, I know that there are a lot of fake products out there. I saw fake memory cards and probably USB drives online.

You've installed Kaspersky, Avast, Malwarebytes, Unhackme, "some antimalware program", Eset, to find some malware that probably doesn't exist. Its possible the installation and uninstallation that doesn't remove all files properly is your issue. Just follow other users advice, re-install windows, its not that hard.

Cursors do not move by themselves and open files and close things by themselves (even within airplane mode), then move at the login screen by themselves if it is imaginary. It is a virus or malware. Something is programmed or someone has exploited my computer. It is odd that my computer is the only one on the network having this situation. It is probably infected. Due to it having similar activity to a quarantined virus, it may be related, but it is uncertain. Reinstalling windows on a laptop with a failing battery is not going to solve the problem, and neither will transferring files to a computer with some security software that is not finding the problem. There must be someone that has some knowledge of this kind of issue. Indeed, from my experience, reinstalling windows when there is not a failing battery does not always solve the issue. When I had a virus on vista and the keyboard stopped working, the keyboard still didn’t work. This will not make the battery go to full capacity, and there is no reason to spend money on the old computer. It is better to find the solution so I can install everything on the new laptop, then risk putting files that may be at risk on it with security software they is not finding anything. So if anyone has ideas about how to do that, please let me know.
