    TPM and Windows 11.

I have TPM enabled coincidentally when the BIOS was flashed. Secure boot is enabled. All was luck as I should not have taken the chance to brick the pc.
However, I heard you need TPM enabled to get Windows 11 and it is better protection. It did become enabled after flash. Asus z390 Tuf plus gaming WIFI.

Is there another way besides the BIOS to enable TPM as in Defender under device security.

Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 to be present and enabled. No, TPM can only be enabled or disabled in the bios. A lot of OEMs seem to be issuing bios updates recently, with the sole purpose of changing their bios default from disabled to enabled in preparation for W11.

Just because TPM is enabled doesn't mean it will be in use. Whether its used or not, that is a user setting within Windows, W10 or W11.

No, it's not changed to 1.2. Windows 11 will not be offered as an upgrade option in Windows Update unless the PC has TPM 2.0.

    Microsoft said:
Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 vs 1.2 because of the security advantages it provides, particularly support for newer and stronger cryptographic algorithms.

What has changed, as reported in that article Samuria gave a link for, is that MS will apparently allow you to upgrade manually using an ISO on an unsupported device, and if it has TPM 1.2 then it is certainly unsupported.

Whether you'd actually want to install W11 on an unsupported device is another matter, when MS say 'unsupported' they really mean it in all senses of the word. That article goes on to say that: "..."unsupported" Windows 11 PCs won't be entitled to receive Windows Updates".

I do have TPM enabled and turned on.
I appreciate all the information the forum has given out.
I hope I can use MCT as well as an iso file for a clean installation.

I still have the feeling MS is shooting its own foot with those requirements. I am also pretty sure there will be ways or dirty hacks to circumvent these when installing.
