    Yeah beardless Linus is freaky.
    Mainly linked the vid for Tracey to show the bit about disks and TPM not needed to unlock drives moved to other machines, which is something they seemed concerned about. After all there are plenty of people who transfer disks to/ from work and home that use BitLocker, if you needed the original TPM module to unlock the disk it wouldn't be a viable method anymore.

    Only the recovery key you created during the initial set-up is required.

    I'm trying to figure this out and am not having any luck. I have an ASUS P9X79WS motherboard and don't know how to get the TPM and secure boot to activate.

    Your MB may not include a TPM module on board, But you have a TPM header to add one. View the Manufacturer for a list of compatible TPM module available. then you should be able to enable secure boot. and TPM in your BIOS.

    RUFUS has you covered...

    Create bootable Windows 11 ISO without TPM, Secure Boot and RAM requirements. | Windows 11 Forum

    As long as your CPU is compatible with Windows 11, RUFUS will take care of the rest.

    I would have thought that RUFUS would have disabled the CPU compatibility check was well.

    Yeah, I don't understand that either.

    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3201 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)

    Is this CPU approved? I couldn't find it on the list.

    @eddieb11106

    Sorry, no, the 3930K is not supported. Essential security-related capabilities are missing from its instruction set. An easy way to remember it is that Win11 requires Intel CPU models to start with an 8 (i.e. 8th gen CPUs) or greater. There are a few exceptions in that one or two specific 7th gen CPU models are allowed, but most of even that generation is not officially supported.

    Is there a supported CPU that will fit in the same socket?
