Microsoft Defender and MBAM no longer work simultaneously
.
For about 5 years, Microsoft Defender (MSD) and MalwareBytes (MBAM) have co-existed without problems. These are my only two protections. Both are "always on". Both could be used for individual files and folders, using right-click in File Explorer.
Today, right-click on an EXE file did not present MSD as an option.
I've had no recent Windows updates.
I used one of Shawn's tutorials to download and load a REG to add MSD to context menu. That had no effect.
In Task Manager, MBAM showed, but not MSD.I clicked on MSD in sys tray. In "Virus & threat protections, Instead of the usual "Quick Scan" and "Custom Scan", I saw:

.
I turned off MBAM. Immediately, MSD appeared in the File Explorer context menu, and the image above was restored to normal. "Windows Security" showed in Task Manager.
So, currently I'm running with only MBAM as the "always on" protection. How do I force MSD to run simultaneously ?Thanks.
