    Windows 11 and Secure Boot

My Dell Latitude 5420 laptop, at present working with 64 bit Windows 10 Pro, does not, it seems, support Secure Boot. Please see the attached System Information. Does this mean I cannot upgrade to Windows 11, when the new O/S is released, without significant hardware upgrades to the laptop? Advise would be very welcome.

Hello Dalchina, I ditched the HP Compac Presario for a second hand Dell Latitude some time ago.

    According to this:
    https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...a-85b40f4ab3f9

    it seems it should.

Is your installation UEFI, and if you look at your BIOS/UEFI GUI, do you see any options related to Secure Boot? Could it simply be that it's off?

(My post ref your old machine in your specs was deleted)

The second generation CPU alone would make the machine ineligible for Win 11. At the moment, Microsoft is requiring Gen 8 or later. It remains to be seen whether that requirement will remain in the released version of Win 11, later this year.

If your 2011-12 Dell Latitude E5420 is similar to 2011-12 Dell latitude E6520, it may not have Secure Boot. Might look at what jphugan suggests. https://www.dell.com/community/Latit...t/td-p/6209825

My (Nov-2012) 20H2 Dell Inspiron 660 desktop has UEFI, Secure Boot ON, but no TPM. Four more years of W10 isn't that bad.

Thanks all. Looks as if I'm stuck with Windows 10.
