I had a look at the below methods from here:
Clear Protection History in Windows Defender on Windows 10

    Method 1 worked.
Method 2 did not. Even after a system reboot.

Since the log event from the Defender detection indicated as Threat Removed, then there is no reason to re-install Windows?
Sorry to be so paranoid, but I am usually careful not getting anything bad onto my system.

When I was using Edge, I did not have any extensions installed and always been careful on what I download.

Turn off push notifications then don't worry about it.

I would really wish to know that even if the Threat was removed by Defender, should I reinstall Windows?

Personally i would not reinstall windows. It looks like a minor problem with a rogue push notification. If Edge cache and notifications were cleared then why worry. It's not going to be some heavyweight data stealing virus.

If concerned run Crowdinspect for a few hours and see what's connecting to where.

What do you mean by push notifications?

I had desktop push notifications turned off in Edge all along. I have browsers locked down to almost full extent. How come I got this in the first place? Privacy settings are set to Strict ad and tracker blocking.

Your right, if this was like a trojan or something very super malicious that even Defender could not remove, then reinstalling Windows would be the best option.

But this is minor as you said.

It's nothing serious and has been removed. Maybe it wasn't a push notification. It seems to have only existed in Edge cache.

If you don't get any more threat notifications and didn't install any extensions or programs or update them the day the incident happended or else the previous day I really wouldn't worry about it. You could always run another third party malware scanner just to check if anything is found.

The tool seems to work but it took a while. Forgot to ask, should I had left all browsers open and the apps that I use while the process scan was running?

Thinking that if I closed all apps including the browser, then it just defeats the purpose of the tool.

If you are concerned about malware connecting to a server somewhere and sending stolen data then you'd leave it running whatever programs you are using and check out any suspicious results.

Hey, what you need to do is so simple, just follow the steps below exactly in order:
    1. Turn OFF Real-time Protection
    2. Turn OFF Cloud-delivered Protection
    3. Go to this folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service
    4. Delete the contents in the folder
    5. Turn ON Real-time Protection
    6. Turn ON Cloud-delivered Protection

That's it... Now check protection History, it's empty.
    Done!
