    I know, already.

I know how to do W Def. offline scan. I have done it many times already. But I never knew the result. I do not know where to look. It is not in the same place where result of chkdsk and sfc scans are found. The tutorial you kept sending me to does not tutor on how to find it.

    - I agree with you that the results of an offline scan are not in the Event logs. Windows is not running when the scan is taking place so I'm not overly surprised.
    - All that I have been able to glean from Event viewer is the time that WDOffline initiated a restart so that its scan could run.
    - All that I have been able to glean from the very strangely time-stamped logs in C:\Windows\Microsoft Antimalware\Support is that the offline scan happened and finished with an error code 0x0 [which is encouraging] or, in another of the logs in the same folder, with an error code 0x80501002 [about which I have been unable to find any useful info].
    - My scan just took about a minute & a half. But Microsoft Defender Offline - MSDocs says it takes about 15 mins.

I ran that offline scan in the hope of being able to help you but, instead, I have been left baffled.

    Yours in confusion,
    Denis

Hi, Dennis. Each of the Microsoft Defender offline scans I have done took at least 10 minutes and I never saw the ending of it. Always, my PC was already re-started by the time I checked on the scanning. There is nothing in the Protection History to suggest result from the offline scan. The online scans (Quick, Full and Custom) latest scan is summarized with Start time, Duration time and Result (so far only "No threat found."). I cannot imagine Microsoft having introduced such an innovative scan, has neglected a device to post the result.
