Over the weekend I decided to delete Microsoft Antimalware (MA) and Microsoft Security Client (MSC), whose names I had modified slightly so they didn't exist.
A new version of MSC had been created, and I was allowed to delete the original. At least the new folder has less stuff in it.
I was not allowed to delete MA. That folder contains 4 other folders, 3 of which I was allowed to delete. I was not allowed to delete the folder called Scans so I put the other 3 back from Recycle Bin. Scans is the folder that has all the nonsense in it. Now if I had tried, and been allowed, to delete the contents of Scans, maybe I would have been able to delete Scans, and then MA. But it was getting too complicated, and who knows what would happen, even though others don't have the MA folder, and as far as I'm concerned, I shouldn't need it either. In fact, since it hasn't been touched since 2015, it's pretty clear I don't need it. Any new advice about this?
Thanks.
