Hacking problems etc.

I just posted about hacking problems generally these days in the Chillout Room, which then made me wonder if there are any technical ways of stopping hacking etc. anyway...

"I don't know about anyone else but quite honestly now we're really in the George Orwell sick hacking world and Big Brother etc., I've started to wonder just how the best bits of both old pre PC and new worlds could possibly be kept and the rest junked. Because over the last month my home phone and ancient mobile have been hacked though thankfully my pc is fine.
I doubt there is any solution, but it would be interesting to hear what others think and what could be pruned out anyway though I think it's already too late for the average man in the street."

The best way to avoid hacking is to not put too much info out there and only use the software/sites you can rely on.

I really dislike cloud accounts. I have had one hacked last weekend and it was tough to get it all back. I eventually did, but, one of my old email accounts has now been comprised and they are sending dodgy emails to my clients in my name. I spent most of yesterday calling them to explain and to NOT open any attachments. Luckily I never use my bank card online as I just don't trust the security of servers so no money was taken.

Convenience comes at a cost!
