I want to Delete Antimalware Service Executable .

Currently reading other threads on this topic:
I had to again reset my PC, while files were saved,
this Defender service I had once vanquished is back. Id like to delete it. But forgot the methods that worked . Thanks alot for any help rendered here.

I really don't care for any security apps on this aging and increasingly slower computer specially with what a forced Dell Intel-bios update did to performance on this machine .

Two promising method, found in two videos.
Youtube : " How to remove Antimalware Service Executable / MsMpEng.exe " by Abdulkadir ünal

( This guy through CMD safe mode, ran a few commands and was able to disable it,

    The commands he used:

    dir "\msmpeng.exe" /s

    RD "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender" /S /Q

    RD "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender" /S /Q

However these commands didnt follow through correctly and it didnt work for me. unsure why .

    and

Disable Windows Anti Malware (Defender) in Windows 10 " by DJ Sures .

( He basically renames and or moves the Windowsdefender folder , in CMD safe mode, effectivly disabling it totally ).
However my drives are a bit unorganized and the CMD commands are not matching up with his video and i dont understand CMD well. So while it was the most simple I was not even able to achieve that . )

If anyone has a safe automated way to do the above, id give it a try if you can recommend .

Ill continue to read the forums and wait a response here. Thanks a lot .

    Get Autoruns, here... https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...loads/autoruns

It's portable. Just extract it to a folder anywhere. Then run: Autoruns64.exe

Do the steps in order... then reboot.
Then go to Services and disable... the Microsoft Defender entries.

If you want to disable the Firewall also... go to Services and disable Windows Defender Firewall, too.

    That's what Autoruns is for.
It enables you to stop the Defender drivers. THEN you will be able to stop the Services.

just take ownership of some keys and then delete the registry trees

USE SAFE MODE to take ownership of any big relevant registry keys, like these two:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinDefend

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender

make sure that after you take ownership in safe mode that you grant your account full control of the key subtree.

then just delete the all the keys. that gets rid of the tamper protection as well.

sorry if i can't remember all the keys that i deleted. i got so frustrated with all the scripts and batchfiles not working, so i just decided to manual remove defender like i would manually hunt down and kill a virus or trojan. lol.

then go to program files and take ownership of whatever you want and then delete the programs themselves.

That would probably be Tamper Protection in action.....

Turn On or Off Tamper Protection for Microsoft Defender Antivirus

Good luck dealing with BSOD and such afterwards, Defender is more than just AV (DEP, secureboot, etc).

Some time last year I got fed up with Defender getting in the way, and posted how I stopped it in its tracks by renaming the executable. See this post.

This worked, but I had to ignore error messages from attempts to update Defender signature files. A few months later I was directed to Defender Control which I have been using since. Works perfectly (for me).

I now see that what I did was similar to the DJ Sures video - but it works fine, the path should work for you.
