    Windows Security (Defender), has worked very well for me, personally.

    I'll stick with it.

    Hello @denvilledon,

    I must admit that I have installed AVG of numerous machines running Win Vista and Win 7, and to a certain extent early Win 10 machines.

    However, Defender is a far more competent and reliable piece software now and I do NOT need a secondary or alternative form of software.

    Thanks, when I went to uninstall AVG there was on option to go to passive mode. I did not have to uninstall AVG and I can do a scan when I want to

    It's ok to have WD active and AVG serving as on-demand only. I used numerous AVs AMs that way. Although I am a W7 user, I have read numerous posts where W10 WD is much better than W7's or earlier OS' WDs were.

    I do use AVG on a Wndows XP virtual machine, otherwise Defender all the way for me.

    For all of my modern Windows 10 machines, I just use Defender. It's proven to be reliable for me.
