    @phrab

Your HOSTS file contains microsoft telemetry blocking domains so that's why it's flagged up. You can add HOSTS file as an exclusion. I've done that but still get an occasional notification that threats were not remediated.

Windows 10: HOSTS file blocking telemetry is now flagged as a risk

Can be enabled/ disabled in two clicks.

Cloudflare Announcing Beta for WARP for macOS and Windows
This morning I enabled Cloudflare per the intructions at Setting up 1.1.1.1 . 1.1.1.1 docs. I also renamed my hosts file, so I no longer have a hosts file. To be honest, I haven't noticed a difference in speed.

I went to the WARP link that you described in your post. I wasn't clear about something though.
    1) If I install this, will this allow me to go back & forth between 1.1.1.1 & my original setup & Cloudflare?
    2) My DNS Client service is set to Automatic (Trigger Start). Should I stop it & either set it to manual or disable?

    Thanks again!

Warp handles it. If you install it and click the system tray icon for options you can toggle it on/ off as desired regardless of DNS settings. You can also just uninstall it to revert to original settings.

1.1.1.1 — The free app that makes your Internet faster.

There's no network adapter. It's not a traditional VPN . It's more like a private DNS Resolver.

EDIT: You might not see a huge diference in speed but try visiting a site that your ISP blocked (if you know of one) and you should find that it's no longer blocked. In other words there is no ISP snooping or browsing data collection.

    EDIT 2:

    Try:
    What's My DNS Server?

with and without WARP and compare DNS Server/ IP Address.

I tried it & played around with it. I had already followed instructions to change my adapter settings, so that I'm using Cloudflare. However, when I installed Cloudflare_WARP_Release-x64.msi & set it to block malware, I had problems. I already have a VPN, called Express VPN. It would no longer work. In fact, somehow my internet got shut down & I couldn't even connect to Netflix.

Maybe I didn't set the preferences correctly, but I had to reboot to get my connection back, although Express VPN still didn't work.

P.S. When I rebooted, I ended up with "Meet Now", which I thought was some spyware...it turned out that Microsoft added it automatically to Skype & set it to load with Windows. I guess it had nothing to do with WARP.

Disable Warp (toggle off) to use VPN. I use DewVPN but not when Warp is connected.I don't know if you're interested but I like to have a choice of connections. Mostly I use Warp, Regular connection when I need to access my ISP account. Then DewVpn as and when needed. Sometimes TOR Network (not TOR browser) for region locked content as it's sometimes faster than VPN.

    Works with regular browsers.

Just to clarify Warp should not be used when you want to connect via VPN. If you want to use Warp then exit VPN first.

Also note: If you don't manually exit Warp (toggle off) before shutting down then it's likely to auto connect on boot.

Just out of interest what DNS server shows up if you exit WARP and connect your VPN?

    What's My DNS Server?
