Windows Defender Antivirus not showing up in Group Policy after tweak

It was there earlier, I then went to "disable" it, rebooted. Now it's gone completely and only Defender Smartscreen is shown.

How do I get it back? I don't have any AV installed, btw.

    Thanks

Edit: Windows defender is called Microsoft Defender Antivirus. I found it.

Is there a way to disable it completely (manually)?

Yes, you can completely disable it, but that's not really a good idea...

    Get Autoruns, here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...loads/autoruns

It's portable, so just extract it to any folder you create.
    Then RUN... Autoruns64.exe

    1. Set the Options as shown.
    2. Make sure you're on the "Everything tab, and search for windows defender
    3. UN-check the boxes as shown, and reboot.
    4. Go into Services, and you should now be able to disable the Microsoft Defender and Windows Defender entries.

You can also go here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/
...and just do a search for "disable Windows Defender".

Unfortunately, I ran into a roadblock. Despite signing in as Admin and UAC set to lowest, I can only change mpssvc. My info looks much different than the your pic which appears to be from a Windows XP system.

<------- I'm on Windows 10 Home, fully up to date.

Did you set the "Options" like I showed in the pic I posted... (#1)?

You need to follow those directions... exactly.

    1. Set the Options as shown. (#1)
    2. Make sure you're on the "Everything tab, and search for windows defender (#2)
    3. UN-check the boxes as shown, and reboot. (#3)
    4. Go into Services, and you should now be able to disable the Microsoft Defender and Windows Defender entries.

You need to search for windows defender... NOT just defender

    /edit

Oh, I see what you're looking at. I named my user... XP

On YOUR picture, you need to UN-check the ones with the RED dots.

Sorry, I can't. I receive the following error message when trying to untick those boxes, other than mpsdrv. Additionally, I logged into my separate Administrator Account and I still received the error messgage.

And when I go into the group policy editor, despite the changes I make, they don't stay. Real Time protection turns itself on even after reboot despite selecting "enable" — Turn off Microsoft Defender Antivirus AND in the Real-time protection folder turning it off their too (enable). I followed the instructions here: How to Turn On or Off Microsoft Defender Antivirus in Windows 10

If it makes any difference, I upgraded from Home to Pro.

Update: you can't turn Defender off if you initially upgraded to 20h2. This is why I got the error message and Defender will restart. This is the only solution and it's easy peasy: Defender Control v1.7
