    I have done the in place upgrade enough times that I’m scared the HDD is going to quit. That is not the answer. The system is running great though, lol.

    In place upgrade doesn’t fix it.

    Your PC is busted, you need to do a clean install or just buy a new one

    Ok then. I almost want to get you to try it one more time, but I don’t want to tick you off. It seems that the 2nd time is proof. You are thinking this is a joke. But nooooo. Anyway you have been very helpful already.

    No other issues to report at this time though. It’s a head scratcher.

    @Jimbo93

    The way to remove the "gremlins" from Windows 10 is to do a clean install of Windows 10.
    When you upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, you bring all the baggage that Windows 7 collected.

    A clean install of Windows 10 will be just that... clean.

    I don't use Windows Defender at all.
    OP is chasing problems from the wrong direction.
    Start with a clean install... THEN most everything will work as it should.

    I'll second the clean install test suggestion @Ghot made. Just make a full backup of your boot drive first: Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect Then you can easily restore it later.
