    Seeking advice running Malwarebytes with Norton 360

    Windows 10 Pro - 2004, OS Build: 19041.746

    Howdy All

    A couple days ago I had a 'bad actor' try to access my system. Fortunately Norton 360 (and some of my common sense) saved me from a big headache. Studying the history log I was impressed Norton came out on top after seeing the techniques used by the 'other guy'.

    A few years ago I tried Malwarebytes and found it annoying, especially its interaction with Norton, so I uninstalled it.

    I'm looking for any thoughts/comments on whether Malwarebytes and Norton now play well together and for any suggestions configuring both towards that end.

    TIA to all who read this post and to those who reply.

    Do not even think about it. Just forget, that Malwarebytes exists.
    Norton 360 is a complex product, adding anything on top of it might break it.
    You can use ondemand scanners like HitmanPro, EEK, ESET Online, RogueKiller.

    I just use Microsoft Defender.

    Norton 360 is good enough on its own.

    Just a thought, but there are also Portable or Online Apps [ less impact on the OS ] . . .

    > Best Portable Antivirus (Anti-Malware) Scanners In 2021 For Windows

    I hope this helps.

    I use Norton 360 with Malwarebytes and have for several years without problems. They both play well with each other. There are some scanning exclusion that Malwarebytes recommends. You can read about them here: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topi...rton-security/

    @TairkuOkami
    Thanks for the feedback!

    Thanks again; always appreciate your suggestions. I've researched Portable Apps without finding one that appears to be straighforward. i.e. download to a flash drive with update feature. NBD unless you have one in particular you'd suggest.

    I'll mark this post solved, but will be interested in hearing any other thoughts/suggestions that come up.
