After installing the Hauppauge Capture application for the Collosus II video capture card, multiple folders and files were added to the Defender exclusion list. Tamper Protection was on. Sure, I okay'd the app installation, but I didn't think it would be able to exclude itself from scans. Is that normal?

Thanks Denis. Already have mail to them. They aren't as responsive as I'd like sometimes. It will be quite something if they say "Our software can get into your security software whenever we want and decide what will get scanned."

I have only seen this for my Acronis TI imaging software. I don't use any Hauppauge software and cannot imagine what aspect would necessitate an exclusion.
