    Protection History view not working

Does anyone have a problem when opening the Protection History pane from Settings?

When I do this the window has nothing on it and none of the links work - can't even go back Home. Moving the window causes it to close. As far as I can recall this has been happening across the last several revisions of 10 but with time on my hands I've just got around to thinking about it.

    Happy Holiday.

Sam: What version & build are you running? PH doesn’t show in Settings in my system. I have WD disabled.

    Happy holiday Sam.

Windows defender not working right is a problem. To see protection history is not really that important, but WD should work with no problems.
Like jamis asked above: what Windows build?

Try to check system: run sfc /scannow.

Windows Defender is working but I'm just curious as to why this function doesn't.

I've done the sfc and no problems have been shown

So you have latest build. In fact latest Beta build. Same here, only I have pro.

Do you have protected folders set to on? Obviuosly no other history to show. But you also said that this page in Settings doesn't work - I see this as a major problem.

Sadly, there is no reset options for Windows defender. Installing latest build would do it.

You can re-register Windows Security App in Windows 10 using attached batch script.

I checked two other machines with the same build - one Pro, one Home. Protection history works as it should on these machines so it's just my main machine that doesn't

I've tried reseting the Security App and re-registering it and no change - still not working

It's no big deal as Defender and Firewall work OK and I also have Malwarebytes Free

    Thanks for you help

    Hello @Sam Vimes,

Did you at any stage make any changes to the Registry?
