    New Machine & Norton

New machine came with Norton Security (30 day trial). With W7 I went +10 years with MS Security Essentials (free) and never an issue with malware or virus, etc. Is there a W10 MSSE? Should I remove Norton or let it expire? I thought MS has a built-in security feature (Defender)? If so, why would they install a competitor? What is my recommended course?

    thank you

I gave up on Norton because it has become too bloated as well as to hard to control and takes a lot of memory.
I have Malwarebytes (Paid) and I am pretty happy with it. Windows Defender does a good job. Both without
    without a lot of tweaking.

The Norton trial is just that, a trial version that they offer with new computers, you don't have to keep it or use it at all. When you remove Norton Windows Security (Defender) should start itself or prompt you to start it in the Security Center notification.

No need, it's already there. Windows Security (aka Defender) is built in to Windows 10. It uses the same definitions and scan engine as MSE does in Windows 7.
