    How can I completely uninstall Bitlocker?

    I modified my windows iso and installed win 10 without Bitlocker. But with one of the last updates flash player and Bitlocker were installed again. How can I completely uninstall Bitlocker?

    Hello Henry,

    One way would be to install Windows 10 Home that doesn't include the BitLocker feature. However, it may have Device Encryption instead if supported.

    Otherwise, BitLocker is just an available feature that hasn't to be turned on for a drive. It doesn't use any system resources while not turned on.

    Hmm...

    BitLocker is an inherent part of the Windows 10 OS.
    Just turn it off (disabled) and it will stay that way.

    Simple as that.

    @Henryy26 -

    Looks like malware to me.
    Use Malwarebytes Free and do a complete scan.

    you can disable its service from services.msc and disable the right click context menu for it:

    Add or Remove Turn on BitLocker context menu in Windows 10

    Yes, for the Context Menu entry. BitLocker itself is part of the OS. It can only be disabled.

    FWIW.

    It is part of the OS until you make it not be part of the OS : I deleted system32\bde*, and L_M\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BDESVC .

    Then tell admin to purge all forums, since information older than a month/week (whichever pleases you more) is useless.

    Simply disabling it does not work. It is re-enabling itself and locking up computers on windows 10. I know I know that's impossible. Dell said the same thing. I've had it happen on 2 desktops and 1 laptop.

    Hey there, just came across this post and was wondering if you could tell me how did that work out for you? Did the change "hold", or was it overwritten and Bitlocker re-enabled at subsequent updates? Thanks.
