    pua.win32 priform bundler


    hi i have pua.win32 piriform bundler on my computer, and windows defender is not removing it. i might have picked it thru ccleaner. i ran full scan and offline scan with no results. any help would be appreciated. thank you. windows 10 2004

    The link FreeBooter gave explains it all. The 'potentially unwanted application' is a software bundler in the CCleaner installer It's the reason you have to be very careful to un-tick the 'optional extras' when installing CCleaner or you inadvertently install the likes of Chrome or Avast as well as CCleaner. The bundled software is all perfectly legitimate, it's the practice of bundling other products in with CCleaner that is being marked as 'potentially unwanted'.


    In the future go here: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/builds to download either CCleaner Portable or CCleaner Slim. It's exactly the same CCleaner, but neither of them contain any bundled extras.

    thank you adwcleaner did not remove it. are there any more options to try? i do appreciate the information on this PUA.

    Try running adwcleaner in safe mode.

    Uninstall Cleaner. Reboot, then install Slim Build (or use Portable)

    If defender still shows a problem:

    hi this microsoft answers web page fixed the problem by deleting detection history. problem solved. thank you all pothound
