On Windows 10 Pro version 2004
I am currently using Malwarebytes, however, is it possible to get by just using Windows Defender Virus Protection? It's free and also uses less resources.

In most cases, Windows Security (Defender), smart choices and common sense will suffice.
Windows 10's built-in antivirus app (Windows Security aka Windows Defender) works fine.
It's also the preferred choice because Windows 10 can have issues when using a third-party antivirus app.
Nothing here but Windows Defender since day one of Windows 10. No issues.
Yes, you can. If you wish to take full advantage of WD's capabilities, you might like to try GitHub - AndyFul/ConfigureDefender: Utility for configuring Windows 10 built-in Defender antivirus settings.. It is a small utility front-end to easily configure Window Defender advanced settings.
Alternatively, you may use powershell commandlets or Group Policy (Windows Pro or higher) to configure WD.

No point adding that or even the now increasingly obsolete Malwarebytes - for HOME type computers
Please folks -- what do any of these 3rd party programs find that WD doesn't and is a genuine threat. I've often asked this same question on this section -- nobody has ever replied to that question !!!
If you feel you have to install these increasingly out of date last mid cent (C20) solutions to a C21 OS because it gives you peace of mind then do it - but don't kid yourself that its actually a sensible technical solution -- more a "Psychological One".
WD is rather unfortunately named as its predecessor with the same name on W7/W8 was essentially useless.
WD on latest versions of W10 is based on the very resilient Robust security system built into AZURE (Ms's top generating money earner --its popular Enterprise level Cloud server). Unless you are the USA's / Russia / Chinese military there's no way any small 3rd party A/V system is going to have anything but a fraction of the resources that Ms has.
If you like decent 3rd party products (and there's quite a few out there) support the deveopers of those products who make good other things -- for example decent backup software etc etc.
