    Infection? Not Sure

    Windows 10 Home x64 2004 19041.388
    Laptop issue
    15_ce019dx

    Storage Drive
    Hitachi

Folder of older ripped CD's, some reason the folder names are changing to ae, ab, bc, etc, and files in there bunch of numbers and then .file ((Folders came back after deletion a second time, deleted fully a second time before i shut down that laptop for the night, and i'll work on it more tomorrrow))

Eset online scan found : Jk.redirector.trojan i think was the name, in C:\Users\AppData\Temp Files area

Ran 2 scans with that so far this evening

    Emisoft Emergency Kit

    Defender Offline scan

((now scanning other external on main machine with Defender) not hooking up the blue my passport to main machine tonight i don't think, even though deleted the entire music folder ((I have a backup of it on 2 other drives), and deleted it off the Laptops storage drive internally))

Anything else i should do tonight? or save more scans til tomorrow
I know a full scan on Desktop probably recommended, well do that tonight before i sleep

    anything else?

Do you have any music player that could organize your music collection? Think I saw that somewhere before (maybe Spotify - but on downloaded files).

Otherwise for viruses.. Check your processes (process explorer or similar), then AdwCleaner

Well so far ran Malwarebytes Full Scan--O Detections on any drive on Laptop this time, Eset Online scan again, nothing found that time, Windows Defender full scan--nothing found, ((Still 2 more externals to check though, ran out of power plugs to plug those in at the same time))

Also checked Desktop system early this morning--0 detections in any programs

So thinking maybe all good now

Spotify is installed on Laptop, same as Desktop

If I remember correctly, it has something to do with Spotify database folder (or syncing downloads..) just point the temp folder away from your music collection

For the record, it is better to scan computer without Windows to prevent ransomware from spreading.

In your case I do not think, that is a problem, otherwise your files would be already encrypted and unusable.
