Pulling my hair out with encrypted files on windows 10

    Guys

Whenever i download a file it has a padlock next to it, i then have to go into advanced option and decrypt the file every single time.

I have followed a few guides but i just can't seem to turn this auto encryption off !

Really annoying me now, the drive is not encrypted so why would windows be encrypting any downloaded files.

    Any got any ideas?

    Thanks

Download from where ... or is it just anywhere ?

Have you got the dreaded Bitlocker active ??

    Hi

It can be any file from anywhere.

Bitlocker is "off" for all my drives which is what's driving me insane, i cannot see why the files would be encrypting.

There are various forms of padlock icon. Someone might recognise what you are seeing.

    Hello stekkk,

It does look like it may be EFS encryption from your screenshot. You can check using the tutorial below to see if it may help to decrypt the files and/or folders.
