@NiceAndShy, you've wasted so much time diddling with this. Just reinstall the damned program and be done. It won't deleete your settings, it won't delete your torrents.
AMEN x1000 Brother! Way back in posts #8 and #10 I even showed ways to 99% guarantee it wasn't going delete his settings or his precious torrents. But he would rather suffer through weeks of "straining his mental health" (post #37) then do the simple solution. At least he titled his thread correctly, "NEEDING SERIOUS HELP".

If you are sure that you just need the executable you can extract it from here:

Of course that will not stop defender from quaratining the file so maybe someone can help with that.

There are settings in Defender to tell it to ignore specific files.

Personally I don't use Defender so if someone can post how to add Vuze as an exclusion it would help.

My Windows Defender did not hit on azereus when I installed Vuze as a test, so it would be simple to add the exclusion immediately after install.

If that's your main concern, make an image backup first as has been suggested several times.

    Backup your hard drive
Thanks so much for your input Ztruker! I'm trying to do as you said now.

I know I've spent a lot of time on this problem and trust me, it's really been hard on my mental health and has caused me a great deal of stress.

    EDIT:
I've been avoiding doing a reboot and installing the Cumulative Update for June 2020 until I solve this problem.

    Hi all,

I've had so much stress from the current Covid situation that I had to put this problem in the background, however, there's a new development and I really need help!

I just did a virus scan of my USB HDD that was storing some of my backup files and the same virus has appeared again and I'm SUPER worried about accidentally deleting it again... How can I prevent it from being deleted so that I can possibly restore the app from the backup USB HDD?

    Edit:
The exact file name that's appeared again is "PUA:Win32/iBryteInstaller"

Check the Details in WD and that result, will show the file it has been found in. Lots of times the 'infection' will be a low risk but could use the Quarantine or Remove or Allow choice, I use Quarantine until I can further check it out.
