Is there any way at all to keep Windows Defender antivirus and firewall.. the entire Windows defender package, running when a 3rd party solution is installed?
I want to run it alongisde Kaspersky Security Cloud
No, that would be counterproductive. Kaspersky would be your main AV/FW and WD would be in an "Inert State."
However, there are exceptions, like Kaspersky and Malwarebytes that can co-exist.
What I suggest, is to have Kaspersky as your main AV/FW and use Malwarebytes (Free) on demand when you have a file issue, For a a second opinion, so to speak.
There is also nothing wrong with Windows Defender and Malwayrebytes (Free) either. I really don't trust Kaspersky - Russian origin - just my psychosis.

If Windows detects a third party AV product running Windows Defender will normally be disabled. And for good reason. Having 2 or more active AV programs running can lead to instability, reduced performance, and reduced protection.
Normal Windows programs are designed to co-exist without conflict. In fact a program must do some very specific things to even be aware of other processes. But AV software are not normal programs. To do their jobs they must examine the files and memory used by other processes. When there are 2 or more programs doing this the results are unpredictable, but often unpleasant.
I have Avira Prime with Malwarebytes (on demand). I have Windows Defender firewall (only) running because my computer says I need it. These all run fine together.

I disable the firewall but leave the service running.
Simple answer. No.
Antivirus protection has full control and access over your hard drive. When you install other solutions they will fight for this control and access. That means if you have 3 antivirus solutions installed they will all be trying to manage 1 operating system. This will mean conflicts.
