I agree about Dashlane, and IF Lastpass actually CAN log me into local applications (I STILL haven't gotten a definitive "YES" on that), I'd prefer Lastpass. OTHER than the truly APPALLINGLY poor customer service. 30 hours and still don't have a response to the question asked YESTERDAY morning.
Unfortunately, that "logs out when I close the browser" is the kiss of death with my wife. She's not going to log back into the Password Manager to have it log her into Facebook... She'll log in ONCE when she boots the system. I MIGHT be able to get her to log in once a day, but the vault HAS to stay alive through browser opens, closes, reopens, whatever.
If there's no way to do that with Lastpass I'm guessing we're stuck with Dashlane.
My last pass is always running. I'm practically surprised when I find that I have to log back into it again. I use it on Windows and on Mac.
Back briefly;

When you log in with Lastpass there is a check box that says 'Trust this Browser for 30 days' in the dialog box. If you check that, you have to log in once a month.
A little black book, not tied to any one PC, very unlikely to be stolen in a break in, and even if it is, you have more issues than just a missing list of passwords.![]()
I do it similar to double entry book keeping, two books, 1 black, 1 red, so two copies kept updated and kept in two different locations.
