i have hundreds of accounts and use different passwords for everything. How in the world could anybody remember all of that? I certainly cannot.

I use LastPass and an encrypted KeePass database on Dropbox.

I agree about Dashlane, and IF Lastpass actually CAN log me into local applications (I STILL haven't gotten a definitive "YES" on that), I'd prefer Lastpass. OTHER than the truly APPALLINGLY poor customer service. 30 hours and still don't have a response to the question asked YESTERDAY morning.

Unfortunately, that "logs out when I close the browser" is the kiss of death with my wife. She's not going to log back into the Password Manager to have it log her into Facebook... She'll log in ONCE when she boots the system. I MIGHT be able to get her to log in once a day, but the vault HAS to stay alive through browser opens, closes, reopens, whatever.

If there's no way to do that with Lastpass I'm guessing we're stuck with Dashlane.

You need to check that Firefox does not clear history and cookies when closed.

    So check the highlighted settings.

Uncheck delete cookies and site data (if checked)

History section use "Firefox will remember history" from the drop down list.

My last pass is always running. I'm practically surprised when I find that I have to log back into it again. I use it on Windows and on Mac.

When you log in with Lastpass there is a check box that says 'Trust this Browser for 30 days' in the dialog box. If you check that, you have to log in once a month.

A little black book, not tied to any one PC, very unlikely to be stolen in a break in, and even if it is, you have more issues than just a missing list of passwords.

Yep....a little old school is how I do it as well. I can remember back then when we were told not to right it down and save it to a floppy.....LOL! 20 years later....we're black booking it. LOL!

I do it similar to double entry book keeping, two books, 1 black, 1 red, so two copies kept updated and kept in two different locations.
