I have a data part that is protected by Bitlocker which is also where my OneDrive now resides
OneDrive throws an error as it tries to start before the data part is unlocked
Ideally OneDrive would realise this and just wait without error for the drive to become unlocked
Is there any way round this?
The best I can find so far is to disable OneDrive from starting automatically then when the part is ready start OneDrive (PITA)

BitLocker will protect a drive so that if someone were to remove that drive from your system and put it in another system there would be no danger of them being able to read the contents of the drive. However, in your local system, you are protected by the fact that you have to logon before you can access the contents of that data drive.
Knowing this, my suggestion would be to enable auto-unlock on that data drive. In File Explorer, simply right click on the drive letter for that data drive, select Manage BitLocker > Turn on auto-unlock.
Now, BitLocker protection should be transparent to your apps, including OneDrive, but you still have the protection in case someone gains physical access to your system.
Ah yes, good point. I don't know why I jumped to the conclusion that the OS drive was BitLocker encrypted. I have one thought, but it's likely not the right answer.
Could you tell me if the BitLocker service is started on your system BEFORE you unlock that data drive? My guess is that the service is probably already running. If not, then you could set the OneDrive service to have a dependency on the BitLocker service so that it won't start until the BitLocker service is running. But if I had to guess, BitLocker is probably already running.
