Roku privacy policy - any way to block collection of info on network?

I think some are a bit too paranoid to the point of paralysis. Honestly, there isn't an electronic device today connected to the net that in some fashion that won't send some type of data.
If we're that worried about data mining, then I don't think anyone should connect to the net. Data mining is here to stay. And whether we as a society want to admit it or not, we sold our privacy long ago in the name of convenience via Internet, Social Media, Smartphones, PC's, Connected Devices, and even the software we use.
It's not to say we shouldn't worry about privacy but the world we live in today, that privacy is gone... replaced by the Information age of internet and connected devices.
That said, it also helps to understand not all things are actually "spying on you" but are simply collecting data to improve services and reliability. And yes, even to provide individual customized service.
My two cents.
Then why does Facebook maintain profiles on people who do not have Facebook accounts?
Remember, that the "user" is the person who pays for a service. If you are not the user, you are the data.

Because Facebook users post any and everything on there; even info on people who don't use the app. I have no Facebook account, but between my wife, kids, friends and family I'm all over Facebook. Again... Data mining. No... I don't like it.

Sure, but nothing is forcing Facebook to collect data on your and your family. It's a deliberate decision. Remember, you/me/all of us are the "product."

Hopeless. Facebook's entire business model is based on exploitation of subscribers (note that I don't say "users") privacy. The tech/business word is "monetization." Not just Facebook, but they are the worse offender.
Personally Zuckerberg values his privacy. He has bought up (for big premiums) the four houses surrounding his. The former owners are now renters, and they can be kicked out whenever he wants to. Heck, he could tear down the houses just to create a buffer zone around his house. Too bad we can't have buffer zones around our usage of Facebook.
