I don't use Edge but see this info:

Watch DRM content on Firefox | Firefox Help

    So it's a plugin.

I have it here for three browsers:

Why get rid of it? It's there for functionality. I don'tuse Edge (any version).

As fas as I know the option to remove that plugin has been disabled.

If you manage to remove it then it will come back again after an update.

You might try disabling it via:

    edge://flags

Chromium Microsoft Edge Can Play 4K Netflix Video, Unlike Chrome

Maybe you can disable, I'm not sure.

I reckon you need help from a Norton user to stop that pop up.t may be a Norton settings issue.

    See discussion here:

widevinecdm.dll repeat notifications | Norton Community

There's no need to remove that file.

    Temporary workaround might be:

    From:
widevinecdm.dll repeat notifications | Norton Community

    1. Go into the Norton application and select the search magnifying glass (next to Help)

    2. In the search box enter "notifications" (without the quotes)

    3. "Download Insights Notifications" should appear at the top of the list

    4. Click on it and it should change to "Risks Only"

Done. That will stop Norton from telling you that a downloaded file it has detected is safe, but it will continue to notify if anything is a potential risk.
