    Hi.

If this were me I would be using a non critical machine if you really suspect a visitor.

If this is your only computer I would first image it and disconnect the image. Handy in case you need to rebuild.

Then plug drive in, right click on drive in File Explorer, you should have option in context menu to scan with what every AV you have installed, Defender, etc.

You can also download Malwarebytes Free and run a secondary scan with it.

When I open F.Explo and right clik the drive, I chose scan, it never tells me which drive it's scanning. If I chose full scan it seems like its scanning all my drives.

    Oscar Hotel
Download Panda USB Vaccine: Download Panda USB Vaccine

Panda USB Vaccine is a free security utility that allows you to block malware from spreading through USB drives. These types of malware typically install an Autorun.inf file in the root of the USB drive that causes the malware to execute when you insert them into a computer.

If you right click your USB drive and then select scan it scans your USB.

In terms of downloading something that someone recommends, it is always good to cautious. That said you can see by our membership and history that we've been here a long time. Next you can see site that was recommended. Bleeping Computer is a very reputable site.

Still good to follow precautions. Website do get hacked. I like scan files I've downloaded. Not that I suspect the advice, just it is easy and makes sense.

Looks like that Panda vaccine works at preventing visitors for gaining access to a USB drive when you plug into a computer. Like the title implies, a vaccine.

I have a USB that this software is made for.

    I downloaded, scanned and installed.

Looks like there is also an element of prevention for host computer as it prevents Autorun from kicking off when USB is plugged in.

I didn't go that far but I did vaccinate my USB that I use regularly.
