I recommend you get rid of AVG Free and use Windows Defender.
I often wonder, why is there even need to use any AV??
shouldn't users instead just change their "computer habits" instead and watch what they are doing?

I mean I use Windows Defender since it's existence and never got any detection,
Is that just me or Windows defender just doesn't work?

Sounds a lot like "I've never been robbed, therefore we don't need any police".

Defender works very well. You are fortunate or extremely careful in your browsing and E-mail habits, which is great. Most people are not that careful. I'm cautious but still get stuff once in a while. A lot of what I do here requires me to go places and look at sites I might otherwise not look at.

Malwarebytes catches most of it and Defender gets the rest.

Every AV gathers info, some more, some less, though Avast was really pushing too far.
Kaspersky is banned, because it uploaded NSA hack tools back to Russia for analysis.

Because it is more comfortable. It is like AV is an automatic transmission and no AV is using manual.
Not to mention marketing and scareware: You get infected within seconds using no AV on the internet.

It is just you, meaning, you would be perfectly fine without AV.

Just Switched recently all systems here to Defender, and Kept Malwarebytes Free as secondary manual scan. All gonna use now, after using Avast Free for the previous 10 years, glad i switched them over on my last clean install of System, as well on Laptop and Moms PC when i replaced her hard drive
Glad to hear it. AVG is a problem, as is Avast now too.
ESET can be recommended, but there's no free version.
