That's weird indeed. I am redownloading 4.18.1911.3 again.
That's weird indeed. I am redownloading 4.18.1911.3 again.
For now, I'm staying at 4.18.2001.7 as I'm not having any issues. It'll be interesting to see what eventually comes down via Windows Update. I wonder if anyone else using Defender has noticed this ……….
Got 4.18.2001.7 on Desktop and Laptop, didn't check household 3 PC yet, for now staying at 4.18.2001.7 no noticeable issues spotted at this point, 3rd PC still at 4.18.1911.3
I know several people who didn't get 4.18.2001.7 via Windows Update as it appears it's been pulled. Would be nice to know why it's not on the MS Update Catalog as well as why 4.18.2001.6 was pulled. Figure there are a lot of people who did get 4.18.2001.7 and if there is something amiss, hopefully MS will rectify quickly. As I previously stated, I'm not having issues.
I first received 4.18.2001.6 on January 28, just before the monthly CU, then 4.18.2001.7 on the 31st for both machines and I'll stay put.
The only thing I've noticed since, is my scans are now 25-50% quicker. What had taken a 60+ is now 30-45secs.
Also before 4.18.2001.6, and at least once every week or so, I'd see one lasting 6+ minutes. I've not seen one of these since the change, now going on 10 days.
Back on Sept 18, 2019 there had been that problem with scans lasting only seconds, hopefully nothing similar is going on now.
Windows Defender Antivirus scans failing after few secs in Windows 10
I'm also seeing faster scans but unlike September 18, 2019, scans are not failing and the number of scanned files appears to be normal. Still, we've had two Antimalware Client Versions pulled recently which does beg the question -- why?
I am not noticing issues either with 4.18.2001.7
Good day.
Today my home pc has been updated to v4.18.2003.4 today
Yes, all my other PCs are at the same 2001.10 version.
Best regards.
