    Malwarebytes as main Antivirus

I have a lifetime subscription to Malwarebytes and recently got a new laptop with Windows 10. I transferred the license and Malwarebytes registered as the Antivirus, shutting off Windows Defender.

I'm not sure if I like this behaviour. Can, or should I run both, or use Malwarebytes manually, or trust as is with Malwarebytes as my antivirus?

Many of us here use Defender and MBM combination. MBM did stop a trojan on a website today.

Just make sure this is off, and they both will run compatibly.

OK, I did this but now Windows Security in the notification area has a warning symbol (!).

Check to see what it wants and turn it on. Could be a number of things.

Did you restart after that change? Might be needed to sync it all together.

Thanks, a reboot appears to have corrected the problem.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is not meant to be a replacement for antivirus software. ... This includes malicious programs and files, such as virus droppers, worms, trojans, rootkits, dialers, spyware, and rogue applications that many antivirus programs do not detect or cannot fully remove.Nov 21, 2019
