    Comodo show contained / blocked files that are still there and working


    I noticed Comodo to be acting a little vanilla for me , so after a full scan it managed to remove few viruses without a trace in quarantine , containment , blocked apps or anywhere , that and few more it have shown as blocked in blocked apps , the ones that blocked however can and still are able to work fine , of these are bit-torrent , cmd and few vpn and proxy services . are others having similar behaviors ?

    If you mean Comodo Firewall switch mode to "Custom Ruleset" and always use that setting.

    CIS Premium includes firewall so set like this:

    Comodo show contained / blocked files that are still there and working-ruleset.jpg

    Or:


    Comodo show contained / blocked files that are still there and working-ruleset-2.jpg

    Then you should get alerts on anything that wants to connect. You just need to remember to use the "Remember my answer" checkbox. Check or uncheck the box on a case by case basis.

    Also you can remove blocked apps to start with a clean slate:

    Use "Remove" rather than "Unblock"

    If something still connects and you don't want it to connect - just block it.

    Check which rules you enabled here:

    Check exclusions here:

    FYI. My preference is to just use the firewall component and disable everything else. Then I use a different AV and Malware scanner for other protection.

    Also run a rating scan and if anything shows up as unrecognized or malicious

    Go to File List and change rating for files that you want to trust. If unsure upload files to virus total.

    Hmm...

    I don't think that Comodo is significantly better than Windows Defender, which is free.

    I migrated to comodo as a replacement to paid AVG . they both have similarities . the problem I am reposting however is antivirus not firewall . antivirus way of catching a virus is not through quarantining or deleting it but by rather adding it to a block list to stop it from running . so while these it added to block list . they can still run normally . that wasn't the behavior normally with comodo. I even reinstalled it but it's still does it . contain them in block list but they still run

    It's pretty much the same in terms of configuration.

    Reset the conatiner:

    Reset The Container, Container Computer Security, Network Access | Internet Security

    Check containment settings and exclusions:

    Containment Settings, Containment Computer Security, Desktop Software | Internet Security

    Check auto containment rules:

    Auto-Containment Rules, Containment Security Software | Internet Security | COMODO

    Check file rating settings to configure what runs in the container:

    File Rating Settings, Virus Protection, Internet Protection | CIS Help | COMODO

    Check file list and change ratings if necessary:

    Comodo Internet Security File List, Internet Protection | COMODO

    If your problem is understanding configuration - use something else.

    Perhaps you could clarify exactly what you want to block? Or ideally post a screenshot of your blocklist.

Anyone know how to always show blocked content for all emails when using Outlook 365 Web Access without having to do it for each and every email, e.g add sender to safe senders list etc?

I downloaded a file, and Windows Defender immediately popped up, saying a severe malware was found and quarantined, I deleted it. But, at first I didn't notice that the download itself contained the malware, so I downloaded it again (Who knew it...
