    Is Task Planner running properly ?


    Hi,

    My version number is Windows 10

    Im completely new to Windows Defender so I have a few questions about running scheduled tasks for Defender.

    Now, I set the planned task for getting the desktop out of the sleeping mode; if a task should be completed, but there is a substantial time difference of 5 hours for 3 tasks and one is not reporting a result (only a manual result of a day ago) but the task status is set at ready.

    1) How do I know if a full scan or a fast scan is done?
    2) Where can I see the log files of the executed scans ?
    3) if I planned a task at 2:00 am and I see it executed it at 6:40 am; is that considered as normal?

    I solved the (0x2) problem by running sfc /scannow in the command shell and repaired errors automatically.

    But I dont know if I have done a full scan or a fast scan. How can I know what is done and adjust it eventually.

    guess most of us let Defender do its job automatically.

    these days, AV and malware protection is performed in real time mostly. I would run Full scan only, if something triggers alarm. Even in such situation, I would rather restore a backup image than fight the malware.. But that's only me.
